Product Description
The most advanced choice in water filtration designed to remove the majority of all contaminants in your drinking water while still being compact and portable. Ideal for those with small kitchens or renting and do not want a permanent installation.
This 4 stage reverse osmosis system can be optioned to a 5 or 6 stage system if required. The unit simply sits on the kitchen or laundry bench/shelf and connects to the tap via a diverter valve as shown below. This valve connects to taps with a 23mm external thread or 21mm internal thread. Some other adaptors can also be provided. Turn the lever on the valve (diverter valve connection picture) to divert water from the tap to the RO unit, it’s that simple. Please contact us if you are unsure about the tap connection.
There are two tubes coming from the unit approximately 1 metre long. The white tube supplies the pure water to fill a storage container while the black tube is the wastewater that can run down the drain or put in a bucket for use on the garden, etc.
The system includes a plastic case that neatly encloses the filters and components and clips apart when required. We also only use John Guest fittings and tubing to make servicing quick and easy.
One of the features that sets the ASBTRO4 System apart from all of the others on the market is we use the higher quality more expensive K-Series Omnipure cartridges as opposed to the CL series used by others. This provides a higher quality water and longer membrane life.
Four Stage System
The 4 stage ASBTRO4 System consists of:
Stage 1 – Sediment Pre-filter (part # 17420) to remove dust, rust and other suspended particles. Service life 2 years.
Stage 2 – Carbon filter (part # 17679) to remove chlorine and chloramines from the water to protect the membrane. Service life – 1 year.
Stage 3 – Dow Filmtec US made TFC (Thin Film Composite) Ultrafine 200 litres per day. RO membrane service life – 5+ years based on town water with annual cartridge changes. The water quality monitoring system with inbuilt alarm can be added as an option to let you know when the membrane needs to be replaced.
Stage 4 – Carbon filter (part # 17679) to remove any taste and odour leaving the water fresh crisp and drink. Service life – 2 years in Aqua Safe’s scheduled service configuration.
The current running costs of the standard ASBTRO4 System are approximately $49.00/year for the carbon filter or $73.50/year when amortised with sediment filter.
Additional Option – Cartridge Configuration
This system comes with several additional catridge configuration options.
Option 1 – Choose the Default Cartridge configuration
Keep the system in the default configuration of 1. Sediment Filter, 2. Carbon Filter, 3. Membrane, 4. Carbon Filter.
Option 2 – Create a 5 stage Reverse Osmosis System
Turn the system into a 5 stage Reverse Osmosis System and raise the water pH up to 7-8.5 by adding are-mineraliser cartridge which will be mounted on the external lid of the unit.
Additional Option – Water Quality Monitoring
You have the option of the addition of a water quality monitoring system that is mounted internal of the plastic housing. This will monitor the quality of the water coming from the membrane and will alarm when the water quality deteriorates to let you know when the membrane needs to be replaced.
