Product Description
Recommended for commercial use.
This state of the art filtration system is designed to remove greater than 99.9% of all contaminants in your drinking water making it more pure than any water you can buy, at a lot lower cost and available on tap when you need it.
An easy to install DIY unit that is even simpler to service.
This 4 stage Reverse Osmosis System can be optioned to a 5 or 6 stage system if required. The filter unit can be installed vertically or horizontally anywhere, under the sink, the house or the back of the cupboard. You only need to get to it once a year to change the filters.
The RO storage tank is available in various sizes to suit every application. The 8 litre storage tank comes standard with the unit providing approximately 6 litres of pure water. 6 litre and 12 litre storage tank options are also available.
The storage tank can be installed upright or laid on its side in the cupboard, an adjoining cupboard, under the house or wherever you choose.
One of the features that sets the Aqua Safe ASRO4 System apart from other Reverse Osmosis Systems on the market is the design, we use 10mm tube and fittings instead of 6 mm used by others. This means the pure water comes out faster and the RO unit and tank can be installed away from the sink. Contact Aqua Safe if additional tube is required beyond the 1.5 metres supplied.
The ASRO4R System consists of:-
Stage 1 – Carbon Filter (part # AS2001-12) to remove chlorine and chloramines from the water to protect the membrane. Service life – 1 year.
Stage 2 – US made TFC (Thin Film Composite) Ultrafine 200 litres per day RO membrane. Service life – 5 years based on town water with annual cartridge changes. A water quality monitoring system with inbuilt alarm can be added as an option to let you know when the membrane needs to be replaced.
Stage 3 – Mixed bed resin filter (part # 17138) to remove soluble contaminants that have passed through the membrane including remaining fluoride, etc, to bring the water to ultrapure standard. An optional flow meter with inbuilt alarm can be added to let you know when the cartridge needs to be replaced.
Stage 4 – A carbon cartridge to remove any residual taste and odour .
Stage 5 – A re-mineraliser cartridge (if optioned) to raise the pH up between 7.5 – 8.5. Other options are available for higher and lower pH adjustment.
The unit is fitted with a flow meter that is mounted in the top cover to monitor the water used or filtered through the system. This unit provides a visual display of the volume of water used and will alarm when the resin cartridge should be changed. The unit runs for several years on long life batteries supplied.
The unit is fitted with a pressure gauge to indicate when the sediment and carbon filters are blocked and need to be changed.
Running Costs
The current running costs of the standard ASRO4R are approximately $52.00/year for the 12” commercial carbon filter or $78.00/year when amortised with the sediment filter plus the cost of the resin filter $58.00 every 1200 litres.
Additional Options
Exchange the stage 2 carbon filter for a specialised carbon media cartridge for use in high hardness water where the total hardness is greater than 100ppm. This will treat the hardness and considerably increase the membrane life.
Exchange the pH Balance cartridge for a Re-mineraliser cartridge to add calcium and other minerals to raise the pH up between 7.0 – 8.5.
Exchange the pH Balance cartridge for a Pi filter cartridge to add calcium and other minerals to raise the pH up between 7.0 – 8.5.
Addition of a sediment pre-filter (part # AS2101-12) in front of the stage 1 carbon filter to remove dust, rust and other suspended particles reducing the load on the carbon filter. Service life – 2 years.
Option to add a water quality monitoring system that is mounted in the tap cover to monitor the quality of the water coming from the membrane. This unit provides a visual display of the quality and will alarm when the water quality deteriorates to let you know when the system has a fault or the membrane needs to be replaced. The unit runs for several years on long life batteries supplied.
The second option allows you to turn the unit into a 5 stage Reverse Osmosis System by adding either a re-mineraliser cartridge or Pi filter, adding calcium and other minerals and raising the water pH up between 7.0 – 8.5. Further information on Pi-filters is available by clicking the following link
The final option is if you require installation of the unit.
